Seeking Wisdom for the Christian Business Leader: Proverbs 3

Seeking Wisdom for the Christian Business Leader from FCCI

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
    do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
    and he will show you which path to take." - Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT

As Christian business leaders, we are called to conduct ourselves with integrity and wisdom in all aspects of our lives, including our work. Proverbs 3 offers some really valuable guidance on how to do just that.

The first verse of this chapter, "My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart," reminds us to always keep God's wisdom at the forefront of our minds and to let it guide our actions. This applies to how we treat our employees, customers, and business partners.

Verse 2 advises us to "treat wisdom and understanding as valuable treasures." In the business world, this can mean seeking out opportunities to learn and grow, both personally and professionally.

It also means valuing and incorporating wisdom and understanding into our decision-making processes.

Verse 3 instructs us to "let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart." In the business world, this means treating everyone with love and respect, and being faithful to our commitments and responsibilities.

It also means being true to our values and beliefs as Christians.

Verse 4 tells us to "find your satisfaction in the Lord, and he will give you your heart's desire."

As Christian business leaders, it is important to remember that our ultimate fulfillment and satisfaction come from God, not from our careers or material possessions. When we put our trust in Him and seek His will for our lives, He will provide for us and bless our endeavors.

In verses 5 and 6, we are told to "trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take."

It can be tempting to rely on our own knowledge and resources, but it is crucial that we trust in God's plan and His provision for us. This means being open to His guidance and direction, even when it may not align with our own plans or expectations.

Proverbs 3 offers valuable wisdom for Christian business leaders. By following these principles and seeking guidance from God, we can conduct ourselves with integrity and wisdom in all aspects of our work and lives.
